Advantages

Head, neck and spine treatment:

The RGS Orbiter utilizes rotating cobalt-60 sources to treat tumors of the head, neck and spine. It retains all of the accuracy of the RGS Vertex360 neurosurgery system, with the added capacity to treat outside of the brain.

Rotating sources:

The patented rotating technology of the RGS Orbiter's 42 cobalt-60 sources have an initial source strength of 6,000 Ci (±10%) target treatment areas not attainable with other radiosurgical devices. The unique C-arm rotation and treatment bed movement design allow the sources to move in a complete 360° arc. The sources of other devices move only in a limited plane. The RGS Orbiter features six groups of collimators (6 x 6 mm, 8 x 8 mm, 14 x 14 mm, 14 x 20 mm and 14 x 60 mm) that maximize treatment planning flexibility and shot delivery.

Superior treatment planning:

The proprietary Explorer-4D™ treatment planning system is an integral part of the RGS Orbiter's operation. This advanced software package reduces patient setup and treatment times while giving neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists and medical physicists more leverage and control in planning their shots.

Attractive pricing and financing options:

The RGS Orbiter retails at a substantially discounted price as compared to other radiosurgery devices. The fewer number of sources reduce initial and replacement costs. American Radiosurgery is currently establishing physician owned partnerships for the acquisition of the RGS Orbiter.

The RGS Orbiter is not approved for sale in the United States
